Open Source

+ What the f*@%?
So you're probably asking yourself, why is there a page titled, "Open Source." Well, let me tell you. I'm sure someone out there who is reading this is thinking…"Man, I am a HUGE Pokemon fan, and I would love to be able to make my own Pokemon game." Well, you can. All it takes is a couple quick downloads (and later on $75) and you can be making your own game.

+ What do I download?

RPG Maker XP
Pokemon Essentials

That's it. That's all you need to download. Pokemon Essentials is the start of your project, and RPG Maker XP is the engine. Now, you've just been given a starter kit that mimics most of the basic features of a Pokemon GBA game. With the right knowledge, or help you could even make it look more like it's on a Nintendo DS.

+ Now What?

Well, I'm obviously not able to help you much - but there are community sites willing to help you. They will however not buy RPG Maker XP for you. Down below you can find some stuff that's free to use IF YOU GIVE PROPER CREDIT.

+ Resources:

RPG Maker XP / Pokemon Essentials / Furniture Demo

Very short, semi-efficient eventing process to allow the player to setup furniture. This does not do everything for you, and as such your are expected to learn from it, and apply it to your own game.

NOTE: DO NOT USE THIS AS AN OFFICIAL VERSION OF ESSENTIALS, ALOT OF CONTENT HAS BEEN CUT TO SHRINK THE FILESIZE.
